Golden Goose Participated in
Annual Holiday Parade
Elves with the holiday float in Oro Valley
Marching proud with the Golden Goose Banner
Regardless of the season, there’s always something happening at the Golden Goose Thrift Shop in Catalina. And...speaking of seasons, we’re looking for your favorite holiday season of the year. We know--Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanza holidays are hardly over!
Actually, we’re looking for your favorite holiday recipe. You pick your favorite holiday. It can be one of those we’ve just celebrated or Easter, St. Patty’s Day, Fourth of July, Veteran’s Day, or even Abe Lincoln’s birthday. Our favorite Goose chef/shopper Diana Larroque from SaddleBrooke will head the panel of judges to decide which of these recipe submissions will be published in The Goose Gets Cooked, a special cook book that will be available later this year.
The deadline for recipe submissions is January 31, 2009. Either pick up a submission form or place a copy of your favorite holiday recipe in the collection box at the shop. Remember to include your name and telephone number. Get in the fun of the new year and become one of the contributors to the Golden Goose’s new cookbook.
Speaking of holidays, the Golden Goose was represented in the Oro Valley Holiday Parade on December 13. Several of the Goose volunteers joined manager Stephanie Urdiales and carried the banner leading the way for our holiday float. The message of the best little thrift shop is spreading throughout the area!
Look for a Valentine contest in February and other special events throughout 2009. While you’re at it, stop by and check out the great bargains to be found at the Golden Goose. And before you put away all of the last holiday’s decorations and bring out your items for the next holiday, consider donating your nearly new items for resale.
The bits of kindness we are able to share with the children and families of our area through the projects from Catalina Community Services and SaddleBrooke Community Outreach come from your donations to and purchases from the Golden Goose Thrift Shop. With your help, we can make every day a little bit of a holiday for someone less fortunate.
Don’t forget to submit your favorite holiday recipe. What an easy way to help support the great work that happens thanks to our Golden Goose!
