Ballroom Dance Held Snowbird Sendoff

The SaddleBrooke Ballroom Dance Club held its “Farewell to the Snowbirds” dance on April 14 in the Vermillion Room of the SaddleBrooke Clubhouse. Live music was provided by the Happiness Boys, John Engebretson and Norm Beasley, an enjoyable duo, masterful musicians and singers. Dining and bar service were offered, and everyone agreed that the evening of dining and dancing was a great way to say goodbye to our snowbird friends and to make them miss SaddleBrooke all that much more.

But this dance was not the last to be had at SaddleBrooke. All throughout the spring and summer, the SBDC will be having open dancing on Wednesdays at the Vermillion Room and Sundays at MountainView Country Club from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The dress is casual--come watch or dance and stay for as long as you like. Some of the many benefits in dancing include practicing those old steps and trying some new ones, aerobic exercise, opportunity to socialize, the mental stimulation you get from dancing, and certainly the fun and satisfaction one gets in dancing around the floor.

Our first beginner/novice only dance was held in April in the Vermillion Room. The dance was well attended and thoroughly enjoyed by all. Look for future beginner/novice only dances on our website. So if you want to stay active over the summer, consider ballroom dancing; you don’t need a partner. The SBDC website is sbballroomdance.com for any questions you may have about SaddleBrooke dancing and scheduling, or call Walt at 818-1669 or Kaye at 825-0437.

“Dancers don’t stop dancing because they get old; they get old because they stop dancing.”
