Symphony Guild Plans for 2009-2010 Season

Left to right: Susan Franano, Michael Luzak, Kathryn Greco, Virg Lindquist, and Bill Anderson

Members of the SaddleBrooke Symphony Guild held their last meeting and closing party at the lovely home of Kathryn Greco and Michael Luzak. Executive director of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra Susan Franano and her husband were guests for the dinner. Plans for next season’s events have been finalized, and the schedule and renewal of membership letters have been mailed. Membership fee is still $20 per household. The Guild can offer its members greatly reduced ticket prices with the events. In fact, the entire event (ticket, bus, and dinner) is usually only slightly more than what an individual ticket would cost. We offer both classical and pop concerts; and as a member, you can attend the two events that are held in SaddleBrooke when an ensemble provides a “private” concert and we have dinner. All money from the membership fees minus expenses is donated to the TSO, so you are also helping that wonderful organization.

The Guild begins its season October 19 with a dinner and TSO piano ensemble at the SaddleBrooke Clubhouse. We travel to the Tucson Music Hall to hear a classical program, Mozart and Schumann, on November 19 with dinner before the concert. On January 14, the event includes dinner and is Nordic Favorites at the Music Hall. The Pops concert, Cirque de la Symphonie, will be on January 29 and includes champagne and snacks. February 20 is also a Pops concert Great Movies/Grand Piano with wine and snacks. The TSO brass quintet will come to the MountainView Clubhouse on March 8 for a dinner concert. We travel March 21 to the Music Hall to hear Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and have dinner following the concert. The final event is on April 8 at the Music Hall and will be a classical concert of American Romance, and we will have dinner before the concert. Do watch in October for the clip-out ad containing all the events and hosts’ phone numbers so you can save the dates and join with us to hear some great musical events.
